Washington County passes tax increase free budget

A few weeks away from the new fiscal year, the Washington County Board of Supervisors has approved a budget that does not increase taxes. The County will operate on a budget that is worth a little under 40 million dollars during the 2014 – 2015 fiscal year, which starts October first. The vote for the budget was four to one, with Supervisor Jesse Amos voting no because it does not include an across the board pay raise for all county employees.
