Voter ID cooperation increases

The Secretary of State’s Office reports that voters have begun to cooperate with the Voter ID law set to take effect next month. After some initial resistance, more people have shown up at city and county offices to sign up for an ID. It applies to the less than 1 percent of individuals who don’t already have accepted ID, such as a driver’s license. In Bolivar County, 14 people have requested ids. There were also 4 issued in Coahoma County, 10 in Washington County and 13 in Sunflower County.
