Two Found Guilty in 2017 Indianola Murder

INDIANOLA, MS (Ben Caxton) — After a brief trial and three hours of deliberations two men were found guilty of murder Friday in a 2017 shooting in Indianola. On April 17 of that year, Arron Beamon of Moorhead was shot in the back of the head while dropping off friends in Indianola. Also shot in the incident were Savantae Pernell, and Zachary Lee. Police immediately identified Garrick Price and Damien Ross as the shooters and they were indicted by a Sunflower County Grand Jury. With Friday’s verdict Price was found guilty of First Degree Murder, two counts of Attempted Murder and one count of Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Ross was found guilty of First Degree Murder and two counts of Attempted Murder. Sentencing has been continued to a later date. Under Mississippi law, the only sentence for First Degree Murder is life in prison. The defendants face a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison on each of the two Attempted Murder charges.
