Tree Lighting Ceremony Planned in Cleveland

(Cleveland, MS)- Cleveland’s new 30 foot Christmas tree will be dedicated in memory of Jo Beth Janoush during a tree lighting ceremony planned for Saturday, November 12 at 5:30 pm in downtown Cleveland. The new Christmas tree, along with multiple new holiday decorations, were donated to the City of Cleveland by the family of Jo Beth Janoush. During the ceremony, Mayor Bill Nowell and City Alderman Paul Janoush will speak. Following the speeches, Jane Dunlap, a close friend of Jo Beth Janoush will turn on the lights. In addition to the tree lighting ceremony, Cleveland merchants will be staying open late for Holiday Open House. Merchants will be open until 6 pm on that day and will open from 1-4 pm on Sunday, November 13th. Students from the Delta Music Institute at Delta State will provide live holiday music downtown on Saturday and Sunday. Santa will make his first appearance in Cleveland of the holiday season for the lighting of the tree ceremony.
