The National Weather Service reports that a mobile home, some sheds, and barns were damaged when a twister with top winds of 100 mph struck east of Hot Coffee in Covington County. The EF-1 tornado traveled 7.5 miles with a 250-yard wide path before it dissipated southeast of Taylorsville in Jones County. A barn was destroyed and a building roof was damaged near Brookhaven, and a church roof in Quitman was also damaged but forecasters believe the damage in those places wasn’t caused by tornadoes.
