Tomorrow’s scientists to gather for TechSavvy conference

Coordinators say this Saturday’s TechSavvy Conference in Cleveland will give local girls in grades 6 through 9 some hands-on exposure to STEM studies. Joi Phillips with AAUW says local mentors will lead 10 different workshops on the DSU campus about the hard sciences. Phillips serves as Finance Director for the Cleveland chapter of the American Association of University Women. She says TechSavvy programs are geared toward encouraging girls to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering and math.
