The City of Greenville has won a state grant for a levee trail project

A grant of up to 800-thousand dollars from the Federal Transportation Alternative Program will fund a trail on the levee from Ferry Road to Nelson Street for pedestrians and bicyclists. The city will provide a 20 percent match to reach the estimated one million dollar cost of the project. The trail will include a paved surface, parking, lighting, benches and emergency phones. It’s expected to take about a year to complete.
