Teacher Who Drove Baby into Lake Indicted

COLUMBUS, MS (Ben Caxton) — A former teacher who authorities say intentionally drove into a lake with he 2-year-old daughter strapped inside her SUV has been indicted on attempted murder charges. The indictment against Cari Campbell Cullum was handed down recently by a Lowndes County grand jury. The incident happened last September 21 when she backed off a boat ramp into Columbus Lock and Dam on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. A friend was able to pull Cullum and the toddler out of the vehicle safely. Investigators, however, believe it was not an accident.
