Suspect Charged With 3 Counts of Murder

(Jackson, MS) — A Jackson man has been charged with three counts of murder. On January 24, Stephanie Mejia and Janis Evans were shot multiple times in the street in Jackson. They were both pronounced dead at the scene and Evans was later confirmed to be several weeks pregnant. On Thursday, 22-year-old Rahim Williams, who was already in custody in the city jail in connection to this crime, was developed and identified as a suspect in the incident. Williams has been charged with three counts of murder stemming from the deaths of Mejia, Evans and the death of the fetus. He currently sits in the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond awaiting a court appearance.
