Standoff Ends With Two in Custody

(Florence, MS) — After a standoff with law enforcement in Florence, two shooting suspects are in custody. 20-year-old James Hebert faces aggravated assault charges for shooting a man; and his girlfriend, Victoria Moore, was charged with drive by shooting. Deputies responded to a call Sunday night where a man had been shot in north Rankin County. They couldn’t find the victim at first but later located him at the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the back. The Special Response Team went to a trailer on Valley Cove, just outside of Florence, Monday morning to arrest Hebert. His sister and girlfriend came out without incident but authorities had to deploy two robots and use tear gas to finally take Bryan into custody. A weapon was also found in the trailer that investigators believe Hebert used in the Sunday night shooting. The victim has been released from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
