Southern Miss Goes Home, Msu and Ole Miss Advance

OMAHA, NE (Ben Caxton) — Mississippi and Mississippi State’s baseball teams have punched their tickets for the NCAA Super Regional while Southern Miss was sent home on Sunday. It was a good day for the home teams as 13th-seeded LSU beat the Golden Eagles 6-4 in Baton Rouge. In Oxford, Ole Miss overwhelmed Jacksonville State 19-4 to advance to an NCAA Super Regional for the sixth time. The Rebels will face SEC rival Arkansas, the No. 5 national seed, in the best-of-3 Super Regional. In Starkville, the Bulldogs beat Miami 5-2 and advance to the Super Regional for the fourth time in four years under four different head coaches.
