Robbers in Halloween Masks on the Loose

HELENA_WEST HELENA, AR (Ben Caxton) — Helena-West Helena police, the FBI and Arkansas state police are investigating a series of business robberies where the suspects wore Halloween masks. Around 12:30PM Monday, a black male about 6 feet 1 and 170 to 180 pounds entered the Post Office on Sebastian and jumped over the counter. Employees ran to the back and locked themselves in; the man left without taking anything but as officers responded to the Post Office the same man walked into Southern Bancorp Bank on Plaza Street armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, taking an undetermined amount of cash from the tellers and driving away in a white sedan. On Saturday, a man wearing a gorilla mask and gorilla gloves robbed Jordan’s Tobacco Super Center. The man kept one hand in his pocket and the employees thought he had a gun. After taking money out from the safe the man ran away and got into a white Chevrolet Malibu with a temporary tag. Authorities believe the incidents are all related.
