Roads and bridges to get help thanks to new state budget

Lawmakers in Jackson approved a $6.3 billion dollar state spending plan with a 75-43 vote at yesterday’s deadline. There’s still a $20 million dollar shortfall for state Medicaid, even though the budget includes an additional $450 million dollars earmarked mostly for the program. The budget awards $200 million dollars for repairs to Mississippi’s bridges and roads.
