Quiet Week with No Arson Investigations in Greenville

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — For at least one week, the Arson Investigation Bureau had nothing to do in Greenville. According to the Fire Marshall’s office, 21 inspections were carried out during the week of December 9th through 14th, but no suspicious fires in town meant no work for the arson team during that time. The fire and rescue team’s week was relatively quiet in other ways too. Firefighters put out a small scrap metal fire. A reported building on fire turned out to be the homeowner burning trash behind his house. The rescue team was sent to a motor vehicle accident on Reed Road and Mary street but no one needed to be extracted from their cars. And a group of cub scouts toured fire station 1.
