Police Say Batesville Man Abducted Pregnant Wife

BATESVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Batesville man is in jail in Arkansas today after Mississippi officials say he abducted his estranged, pregnant wife in Panola County. The Panola County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Zachary Miller kidnapped and pistol-whipped the woman at her home in the Longtown area. Sheriff’s investigator Tyler Mills told WREG-TV that the woman’s mother called 911 after her daughter texted her a picture of her bloody face. The woman eventually escaped and had Miller’s father’s girlfriend take her to the hospital after Miller made a stop at his father’s home. Miller will be extradited back to Mississippi to face charges in the next several days.
