Plastic Maker Expanding in North Mississippi

SARDIS, MS (Ben Caxton) — United Solutions, a Massachusetts plastics maker, is expanding in north Mississippi, investing $9.5 million to renovate its Sardis plant, add equipment and buy a separate warehouse. The Mississippi Development Authority is giving the company $1 million for building improvements; the state is also loaning Panola County $2 million to buy United Solutions’ factory. The county plans to give property tax breaks to the company which makes buckets and other items. United Solutions currently has 102 workers in Sardis and will add another 50 over four years. The new employees will make $13.50 an hour on average.
