MSHD Making Big Changes

Mississippi State Health Department is announcing its plans to close nine clinics to save money according to State Health Officer, Dr. Mary Currier. The number of patients treated in clinics has seriously declined. Because patients have options to see other providers under Medicaid and the federal healthcare overhaul, clinics across the state will start to close February 1 including clinics in Leland and Hollandale. The health department will cut 64 employees and stop offering maternity care.
