Mother loses wrongful death case against a local hospital

The mother of a young man who died at Delta Regional Medical Center ten years ago has lost her lawsuit against the hospital. Willie Bea Taylor’s lawsuit claimed the doctor who treated 20-year-old Lakenray Taylor of Gunnison, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, was not qualified to provide emergency thoracic surgery. The judge found that she did not prove her wrongful death case and ruled in favor of the hospital. Lakenray Taylor was shot on Main Street in Rosedale on July 5, 2003.
