More Passengers, More Money from Feds in Tupelo

More passengers, more federal money for the Tupelo Regional Airport. The airport boarded its 10,000th passenger for the year last month, making it eligible for $1 million in grants for airport improvements. It’s the fastest pace since 2008 that the airport has reached that milestone; the record for passenger boardings at Tupelo in one year is 31,334, set in 2006 when the airport was served by two airlines. Currently Tupelo is served by Contour Airlines with 18 flights a week to and from Nashville.
