(Greenville, MS)- The annual Mississippi River Marathon will bring close to 1,000 runners this weekend to the Delta. Runners will flood Highway U.S. 82 Saturday morning, beginning at 11:00 and will kick off in Lake Village, AR and cross the Mississippi Bridge into Greenville. There will be a full marathon, half marathon, a 5K, and 1 mile community run. The marathon was created to help all children receive an excellent education by donating funds raised to Teach for America. City leaders like Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons says they’re excited to see the economic impact the race will bring this weekend.
