Mdot Upgrading Traffic Lights Near Delta State Campus

CLEVELAND, MS (Ben Caxton) — Work begins today to replace some temporary traffic signals in Cleveland. The Mississippi Department of Transportation says that crews will be replacing signal poles near Delta State University on Highway 8 at 5th Avenue. The temporary signals erected are on wooden poles. Those will be replaced in this project by new steel strain poles. The work is estimated to last up to a week. During installation and signal testing, motorists should treat the intersection as a four-way stop be on alert for roadside workers.
