Man in Custody for Allegedly Shooting at Couple

(Greenville, MS) — A man is behind bars for allegedly shooting at two people. Greenville police responded to a call Tuesday night alerting them that a man and his companion were traveling on Orlando Street in a 2006 Ford when their vehicle was struck by a 1998 Mercury driven by Romeo Lynch. The victim told police as they attempted to leave, they were followed by Lynch and when they turned south on Washington Avenue, Lynch began shooting at them. The couple met officers at the 1400 block of South Main Street but Lynch was nowhere to be found. Officers later spotted Lynch at Hyman and Madeline and Lynch exited his vehicle and fled on foot. He was caught shortly after by GPD and the Washington County Sheriff’’s Dept. in the 400 block of 9th Street. No bond has been set for Lynch at this time.
