Leflore Supervisors Balk at Judge Furniture Costs

LEFLORE COUNTY, MS (Ben Caxton) — A new judge in the Mississippi Delta is requesting over $8000 in public money for new office furniture. Leflore County supervisors balked at Chancery Judge Willie Perkins’ wish list which includes an executive desk for $2880, a $2200 computer credenza, three office chairs totaling $2430 and a $500 rug. One supervisor said Perkins should be able to find something a little cheaper. A former state representative, Perkins was elected in November in a chancery district covering six counties and took office last month.
