In-person Probation Checks Suspended in Mississippi

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Mississippi Department of Corrections is temporarily stopping in-person check-ins for people on probation, parole, house arrest or other forms of community supervision in an effort to control the spread of coronavirus. Instead of going to an office people under supervision should check-in by phone, email or video chat between 7 AM and 6 PM weekdays through at least April 17th. People are not required to speak with their assigned agent but must provide their name, state department of corrections identification number, address, phone number, and other relevant information.
