Hinds County Gets An Ambulance Bus

HINDS COUNTY. MS (Ben Caxton) — They hope they’ll never have to use it. But if they need it, it’s there. That’s the sentiment expressed by Hinds County emergency officials about a new ambulance bus that was revealed to the press on Monday. The converted school bus, donated to the county by the Hinds County School District now boasts medical equipment and enough space to transport up to twelve non-critical patients in an emergency that involves mass casualties. The conversion cost the county about $18,000. They expect to add three more ambulance-bus hybrids to the fleet over the coming months.
