Greenwood Police Chief Hospitalized After Stroke

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — Greenwood’s Chief of Police Ray Moor was hospitalized Friday after suffering what appears to have been a mild stroke. The 62-year-old Moore, who had been on vacation this week, began experiencing pain in his right side and was rushed to the hospital by his wife. On the way, he spoke with Mayor Carolyn McAdams who said Moore’s speech was not impaired. He is expected to be released from the hospital today barring any complications. The Mayor said Assistant Chief Marvin Hammond will take over at the police department until Moore is able to return.
