Frances McClure McCarty, age 77, of Wiggins

Frances McClure McCarty, age 77, of Wiggins formerly of Cleveland, died on Saturday December 01, 2012 at the Wesley Memorial Hospital in Hattiesburg. She was born on October 16, 1935 to Victor B. and Frances (Pettey) McClure on a farm next door to Interstate Baptist Church. The church played a major role in her upbringing. She graduated Shaw High School in 1954 as Salutatorian and married Bobby McCarty on May 5, 1954. She was a chief clerk at the Federal Compress for 20 years, and had also worked at F & I Machine Works, Jay’s Department Store and was former owner of the Quaint Shop. She was a member of Yale Street Baptist where she had taught the Adult Sunday School Class for many years. Frances was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Franklin McClure and a sister Mary Lou Reed.
