Former prison chief to be sentenced today

Christopher Epps will learn of his fate today during the ex state corrections commissioner’s sentencing on corruption charges. He entered a guilty plea February to charges he took almost 1 million dollars in bribes and kickbacks from businessman Cecil McCrory in exchange for favoritism on corrections contracts. Epps could get 20 years when he appears in a federal courtroom this morning.
