Double Quick Armed Robber Sentenced to 20 Years

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — The man who was responsible for three armed robberies of local Greenville area Double Quick convenience stores in December of 2017 and January of 2018 has been sentenced. Keion Diggins pled guilty Monday afternoon in Washington County Circuit Court to three charges of Armed Robbery. He was accused of entering the stores, displaying a firearm, and leaving with money and merchandise. Detectives with the Greenville Police Department reviewed the surveillance footage from the Double Quick stores and executed a search warrant on Diggins’ residence, recovering the firearm and other evidence tying Diggins to the crimes. Diggins was sentenced to 20 years behind bars by Judge Carol White-Richard. Convicted Felon Tony Phillips also appeared before Judge White-Richard Monday and pled guilty to two separate charges of possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver. Phillips received a sentence of 8 years to serve with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
