Construction Begins on Pine Bluff Casino Resort

PINE BLUFF, AR (Ben Caxton) — Construction has begun on a new $350 million resort casino in Pine Bluff thanks to a change to the Arkansas constitution approved by voters last year. Ground was broken in a Monday ceremony for the Saracen Casino Resort being built by the Quapaw Nation. The casino, with 2,000 slot machines and 50 gaming tables, is expected to open its doors sometime in June of next year, with a 300 room hotel and entertainment venue to follow in time for Christmas. Supporters say the casino will employee up to 1,100 people. The casino resort is expected to create 1,100 jobs.
