Catfish Add $14,000 to Charity’s Plate

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Clarksdale Care Station’s catfish supper last week raised over $14,000 as more than 1000 plates were sold; the money raised will help the Care Station continue to provide meals every day. Board president Charlie Estes says the Care Station is getting food from the Memphis Food Bank and Extra Table in Hattiesburg but has had to spend more money since food donations from Kroger ended when they closed their Clarksdale store. He adds the Care Station’s may hold another catfish fundraiser in October.I’m Lyman James for WROX, on-air and online at WROX Radio-dot-com.
