Busy Pre-Christmas Thursday For Greenville PD

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — It was a busy Thursday for Police in Greenville. A 10:00 AM ambulance call on East McCorkle Circle led to the arrest of 38-year-old Kim Alexander for Felony Abuse of a Vulnerable Person when they found Alexander’s 80-year-old grandmother malnourished, curled up in a fetal position on a bed in a room covered with stains from urine and fecal matter. The woman is in critical condition in intensive care at DRMC. At noontime, an altercation between a mother picking up her child, and the child’s father led to shots being fired. During the argument, 20-year-old Jovarius Singleton fired a gun several times into the air, then fired again into the car which was occupied by another child. Singleton fled before police arrived and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Thursday evening while patrolling on Wright Street, two officers in an unmarked car encountered a man in the roadway, later identified as 34-year-old Lonnie Nalls. Nalls cursed at the officers while pointing a Glock .40 caliber pistol at their car. Nalls, a convicted felon, was arrested on multiple gun and drugs charges.
