Bomb Threat Suspect Pleads Guilty

(Greenville, MS) — A hospital bomb threat suspect pleads guilty. Michael Sparks left the Greenville federal courthouse yesterday after appearing for a Change of Plea hearing before U.S. District Judge Debra Brown. Sparks called Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle switchboard on November 13th telling the operator, “You are going to die and have 15 minutes to get out of the building.” Sparks’ phone number appeared on a caller ID, which aided federal and state authorities to trace the call to the Leflore County Detention Center in Greenwood leading to Sparks’ arrest.
