Bobbit to Name Peggy Doss As Next Uam Chancellor

MONTICELLO, AR (Ben Caxton) — Peggy Doss, the current University of Arkansas at Monticello provost and vice president for academic affairs, has been named as the replacement for outgoing UAM chancellor Karla Hughes who announced this week she will be stepping down at the end of December. System President Dr. Donald R. Bobbitt is expected to make the recommendation to the school’s Board of Trustees in a telephone conference on Monday. Prior to becoming provost, Doss served for a decade as dean of the School of Education. She has also served UAM as vice chancellor for student affairs and university relations after working in public education as a teacher and administrator.
