ATV Accident Claims Life Of Greenville Attorney

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — An ATV accident in Carroll County has claimed the life of a Greenville attorney. According to reports by the Sheriff’s Office 55-year-old Sarah Hodnet suffered “massive trauma” when the ATV she and her boyfriend were riding overturned off County Road 174 in McCarley around 9:30 PM Sunday trapping her underneath the vehicle. Hodnet was declared dead at the scene, her boyfriend was not injured. Hodnet, a former judge in Humphreys County and in Rolling Fork, worked for the office of the North Mississippi Rural Legal Services.

  7. This and other reports show her as a Greenville resident. The Vicksburg paper, obit, shows her as a Vicksburg resident. Sarah was neither. She has lived for years on Straight Bayou Road north of Highway 14 to the east of Anguilla.

    • What the article actually says is that she was a Greenville attorney – because her employer, North Mississippi Rural Legal Services, has an office in Greenville. It says nothing about where she was born or resided.
