April 22: The Week In Review

 

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — This week Delta Daily News let shoppers know they have an extra month to look for deals at the Greenville Penny’s, told you the new St. Joe’s principal notched his 400th career baseball coaching win, and let you know Yazoo City fired it’s two Facebook famous cops. On Monday Rosedale received 5,000 books and some handmade benches. On Tuesday a local college carjacker was nabbed in Iowa, a third Parchman inmate in a week died at a Cleveland Hospital, a bear visited Natchez, a West Bolivar School was recommended to close, a Greenwood murderer was sentenced, and another new murderer was minted in Indianola. Thursday saw a Greenville man sentenced to 25 years in prison for murder, and new tourist signs going up in Cleveland. Friday we told you college tuition is rising again at Delta State, College football players brawling at Alcorn State, and about a Greenville woman who lost her life in a traffic accident.
