Another Clarksdale Public Utilities Employee Suspended

CLARKSDALE, MS (Paul Wilson, WROX Radio) — A fourth Clarksdale Public Utilities employee has been placed on suspension. General Manager Mark Johnson, CFO Steve Reed, and communications director Chris Campos have been on paid administrative leave since July 26th and WROX has learned that IT manager Brandon Soldevila was also suspended for three days this week. Interim general manager Jim Hemphill refused to comment calling it a “personal matter” but did say the utility has internet technology redundancy for operations. In addition to the three suspended executives, Soldevida has also been linked to the recording of telephone conversations at CPU which is being investigated by attorney Jim Herring. Soldevida reportedly met privately with two CPU commissioners, attorney David Hunt and Hemphill on July 2nd and was interviewed by Herring earlier this month.
