Accused Alcorn State Student Shooter Arraigned

PORT GIBSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — The man accused of shooting two Alcorn (ALL-corn) State University students to death earlier this week appeared in court yesterday. Jerrell Davis was initially charged with aggravated assault after he was captured in Adams County. His bond was set at $200,000 and Claiborne (CLAY-born) County Sheriff Edward Goods says more arrests are possible. About two dozen people were at a bonfire at The Ark, a hangout spot 13 miles north of campus in Port Gibson off Highway 61 when gunfire erupted Sunday night. 22-year-old James Carr and 19-year-old Tahir Fitzhugh died and two other students were injured in the incident.
