A boil water alert is back on in Drew

A previous alert was lifted on January 23rd, but a new alert was issued after total coliform bacteria was detected in the drinking water. The alert affects about 60 customers in the area near Bayou Road, Union Street and Parks Street.

Greenville has experienced its first homicide of 2015. 67-year-old Earnest Stuckey has been charged with shooting and killing his brother-in-law Saturday night on Arnold Street. 60-year-old Arthur Triplett died a short time later from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Leland Police are investigating a fatal shooting early Saturday on Old Leland Road. 28-year-old Henry Lamar Cage of Greenville was found inside a vehicle dead from multiple gunshot wounds, after someone reported that a Chevy Impala was sitting in a field with its front doors open and headlights on.
