Young Mother and Toddlers Shot in Jackson Driveby

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — A 23-year-old mother and her two toddlers, a boy and a girl, were shot leaving their home around 11:00 AM Wednesday. The woman did not see who shot her but Jackson Police believe the shots were fired from a passing vehicle. They added that the woman and her children appeared to have been the target of the shooters. Police say the boy was shot in the hand and is in stable condition. The girl underwent surgery Wednesday for a shot to the abdomen and is in critical condition. Their mother is also in stable condition.
