Yazoo County QB Kenny Gainwell Commits To Memphis

YAZOO COUNTY, MS (Ben Caxton) — Yazoo County QB Kenny Gainwell has committed to the University of Memphis. The Yazoo star announced his decision to play for the Tigers in a tweet Monday afternoon. Gainwell played quarterback for Yazoo County last season, throwing for 1,184 yards and nine touchdowns, but he expects to play running back or wide receiver at Memphis. A 5-foot-11, 185-pounder, he exhibited a shifty, explosive rushing style as a junior, rushing for 1,292 yards and 20 touchdowns. Gainwell, who attended Memphis’ “Big Cat Mega Camp” earlier this year reportedly chose the U of M over offers from some other big name programs, including Tulane and Ole Miss,
