Woman Found Beaten To Death In Monticello

MONTICELLO, AR (Ben Caxton) — A suspect is being held for questioning by Monticello police following a homicide in that city. Police officers responded to the Turtle Creek Apartments at 113 Oakland Avenue around 6:00 PM, and found the body of a woman who appeared to have been beaten to death, inside. 28-year-old Cameron King of Monticello has been arrested in connection with the woman’s death. Reports indicate that the woman was found in the living room of the suspect’s apartment apparently having been bludgeoned to death with a two-by-four. The body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the exact manner and cause of death. King is being held on a $500,000 bond and will likely face 1st-degree murder charges.
