Wind Advisories As Severe Storms Likely Today

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — A warm, windy day in February or March often spells trouble and today is no exception. The National Weather Service says numerous thunderstorms will be developing this morning across the southern plains and spread northeastward towards the Ohio Valley tonight. The area most at risk includes eastern Arkansas and northwest Mississippi, although severe storms are possible across all of the Delta today. Winds will be picking up ahead of the storms as well with gusts approaching 50 mph. A Wind Advisory has been posted for this afternoon and evening as the strong gusts may bring down small tree limbs and result in hazardous travel for high profile vehicles even outside any thunderstorms.
