Wheels Come off at Itta Bena City Board Meeting

Chicot Memorial

ITTA BENA, MS (Ben Caxton) — A heavily damaged city truck that might have injured a city employee when a wheel fell off as he was driving it sparked calls for lie detector tests at Tuesday’s city board meeting. Photos of the truck and the damage were passed around to board members. No one claimed responsibility for causing the damage. And no supervisor was present to explain why the truck was still in service in its condition for another employee to use. Alderman Mildred Miller called for lie detector tests of Itta Bena Public Works Department employees to find the culprit. The City Attorney cautioned that would be expensive, and largely ineffective.
