West Nile makes a 2nd appearance

Chicot Memorial

The State Health Department says the mosquito-borne West Nile Virus has shown up for the second time in 2014. The newly-reported case is in Hinds County. The Health Department reports only laboratory-confirmed cases. Health officials say the second case is a reminder to start preparing for mosquito season, which usually peaks from July to September.
