Weekend Storms Send Nursing Home Residents Scrambling

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Greenville nursing home had to be evacuated after parts of its roof collapsed in weekend storms. Greenville Assistant Fire Chief Keith Boston said dozens of residents of the Legacy Manor Nursing Home were removed from the facility Saturday night. They spent the night being cared for at the Washington County Convention Center and Washington Care Center. Legacy Manor’s building was heavily damaged by the storm which contained high winds and large hail. The Greenville Fire Department reported that the hail severely damaged a portion of the roof, leading to the collapse.
