Wastin’ Away Again in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — An old resort made new is just days away from opening in Vicksburg. The old Portofino, which closed in 2015, will be reopening by June 20th as the new Margaritaville. That according to a story in the Vicksburg post quoting regional hotel manager Kenny Galvan who was speaking to the Vicksburg Kiwanis Club. The Margaritaville hotel will include 117 rooms, a pool area, a large arcade and a restaurant. Nearly 2,000 people applied for 170 staff positions at the new resort which is already taking reservations.
