Washington County wins legal fees case

A judge has declined to order Washington County officials to cover the legal fees incurred by a Greenville man in a case involving a municipal court judge and former Greenville police sergeant. Michael Street pressed charges against Judge Michael Prewitt and former Sergeant Susan Graziosi, after an incident involving a family disturbance. Street said they interfered unnecessarily when a teenager was throwing a temper tantrum in a parked vehicle on Washington Ave, and they apparently misinterpreted the situation as the girl needing to be rescued. Charges against Prewitt and Graziosi were dismissed. A judge has ruled that Washington County officials do not have to cover Street’s legal fees, which reportedly amounted to about 2-thousand dollars.
