Vicksburg Embezzler Gets 5 Years Behind Bars

VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — A woman who stole more than $45,000 from the Public Employees Retirement System in Vicksburg will spend five years behind bars. 32-year-old Amanda Combs of Brandon was sentenced after pleading guilty in Circuit Court to three counts of embezzlement from late December of 2016. Circuit Judge M. James Chaney sentenced her to 10 years with five to serve on each count. The sentences will be served concurrently so Combs will be behind bars a total of five years, with five years’ post-release supervision. She was also ordered to pay $17,927.12 in fines, fees, and restitution.
