Vicksburg Couple Win Over Shark Richard Branson

VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Vicksburg couple has a new investor in their business – British billionaire entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson. Juli and Richard Rett appeared on ABC’s “Shark Tank” Sunday pitching their line of high-end camping gear to the sharks, looking for a partner to help grow their company. Sierra Madre Research not only markets camping gear, but their website says that a portion of every purchase goes directly towards a need in a developing country, such as providing drinking water, or shelter for orphans. Branson, who was appearing as a “guest Shark” promised to donate all of his profits from the deal to water-wells and tweeted that he was “thrilled to invest” in the company. The episode was actually taped about a week ago, and the Rett’s were required to not reveal the results until after the show had aired.
